Getting Around Minneapolis

Downtown Minneapolis is a relatively safe city, but like all major metropolitan areas you should always be aware of your surroundings.

The Hyatt and Millennium are located across the street from each other on the Nicollet Mall, a pedestrian friendly “main street” lined with shops, pubs, trees and benches. If you like to people watch this is the place. The Hilton is just one block off the mall and a short 4 block or 5 minute stroll from the other two hotels.

The Minneapolis Convention Center, which will be the location for many of the convention activities, is between the Hilton and Hyatt/Millennium. All four facilities are connected by climate controlled skyways. Minneapolis is the home of the skyway with over 9 miles connecting most of downtown. On a hot humid August day you will enjoy the air conditioning in the skyway as much as we do the heat when it is below zero in the winter. But on a nice day there is nothing better than to stroll the streets of downtown and enjoy the outdoor seating or maybe roof top seating of the many establishments.

The Vigil Mass on Saturday is at the Basilica of Saint Mary, about 9/10 of a mile or a 25 minute walk from the Hilton.  A complimentary shuttle will be provided from the convention center.

Target Field, site of Sunday’s Twins game is 8/10 of a mile or a 25 minute walk from the Hilton, unless you stop to sample the local cuisine or beverages!

For those who do not wish to walk to either event, we will be providing a complimentary shuttle from the Convention Center.
