Have you thought about where milk comes from?
Join your brother knights in exploring a state-of-the-art dairy farm. The Metogga Lake Dairy farm has been operated by a Knights of Columbus family for over 40 years. Each day they milk 450 dairy cows and care for a total of 900 animals on their 1,400 acre farm. The family raises hundreds of acres of corn, soybeans, alfalfa and small grains. Everyone will have the opportunity to see vast farmland of Minnesota and get an up-close look at the large equipment that makes it all happen.
The motorcoach will then take you trough the countryside to the hall of Council #2023 in New Prague where the ladies and members will treat you to a delicious home cooked lunch.
After lunch you journey to Jim’s Apple Farm which has retail apple sales, in-house bakery, locally made jams, salsas and sauces. It is also the site of MINNESOTA’S LARGEST CANDY STORE with sweets from every corner of the world from Russia to Japan and of course the USA. Old fashioned candy like Clark Bar, Walnettos, Mary Janes and Turkish Taffy greet the adults while suckers, gumballs and sour gummies attract the children. Thirsty? Over 1,000 unique bottled sodas from root beers to ginger beers to orange creams to black cherry are well stocked. If you need a challenge, they have the widest selection of jigsaw puzzles of any store in North America. High above the shopping floor, super heroes (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Spiderman, the Hulk and Silver Surfer) stand guard and the largest mechanical band in the state performs every 5 minutes. Don’t miss this opportunity to see for yourself a “football field size” one of a kind store that draws over 700,000 customers in its 7-month long open season. Bring cash or check since they don’t take credit cards.
